Katie's dream, which Amazing Kids! is helping to launch, is "No Hungry Children." Since winning our contest last year, Katie's dream has really taken off, with the support of many wonderful people on her "Launch My Dream! Team!" She has been featured on NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, was in the October 26, 2009 issue of People Magazine, and has been in several newspapers and radio shows. She was recently selected as a 2009 Huggable Hero by Build-A-Bear, was a recipient of a Gloria Barron Prize and a Quaker Oats "Go" Grant, and honored at the Rob Roy Industries annual awards dinner. Kids ages 5-17 will design a tee and write a short essay to tell the world about their dream for their amazing future!

2. Your winning t-shirt will help Amazing Kids! spread the word about our Launch My Dream! initiative, helping kids launch their amazing dreams!
3. Your winning t-shirt can help inspire kids everywhere to work hard towards launching their own dream for their amazing future!
The winner will receive a percentage of proceeds from the t-shirt sales towards supporting their amazing dream, and another percentage of the sales will go to Amazing Kids! to support our Launch My Dream! initiative!

How:
Launch My Dream! T-Shirt Design:
On an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of paper, or using a software drawing program, draw your design which shows what your dream is for your amazing future.
You may design either just the front of the t-shirt, or both the front and the back. You may also add designs to the sleeves. For a front and back design, please use two separate sheets of paper.

Launch My Dream! Essay:
All t-shirt designs must be accompanied by a brief one-two paragraph written description of their own dream for their amazing future!
Please remember to include your first name, last name and email address or other contact information on the back of each sheet of paper, or with your emailed entry.
You must answer the following questions in your essay:

What is your dream for your amazing future?

Describe how accomplishing this dream will help others in some way. Who will it help? (i.e. foster care children throughout the United States, homeless children in my state, veterans in my local community, etc.)

Why do you want to get help in launching this dream?

If you had a “Dream Team” consisting of other kids and their parents and other adults to support you, what kinds of things would you want them to do to help you launch your dream? Please be specific. (i.e. help me organize weekly beach clean ups to make our local beaches beautiful and litter free.” Or “help me organize monthly fundraisers to purchase school supplies for foster care kids in our community.”)
JUDGING CRITERIA:
T-shirt designs will be judged as following:
1. 50% - appropriateness to the Launch My Dream! theme
2. 50% - creativity, uniqueness and overall aesthetic and "kid-appeal" of design
Essays will be judged on:

40% - Essay’s effectiveness in clearly expressing the what, why and how of your dream (including answering the questions listed above.)

40% -The essays persuasive ability to inspire others to want to support your dream.

20% - Grammar, spelling, punctuation
Where: Enter by emailing or mailing your entry to Amazing Kids!. Mailed entries must be postmarked (not received) by December 7, 2009. Emailed entries must be emailed by 11:59 pm, Pacific, December 7, 2009.
